“No matter who dated Alec Baldwin, she was going to be picked apart,” she writes.
But Hilaria was not picked aside. Doors have been opened for her. She was given a gig with “Extra” and common appearances on morning and daytime TV. During which, no one even questioned her “Spanish” background. People merely took her phrase for it.
If something, she was handled properly and — as she likes to level out — as a good affect on her notoriously irascible husband.

Yes, the poor slobs who converse just one language are merely unable to know the singular items and enigmatic mind of the ever-versatile Hilaria. Perhaps this distinctive “code switching” of which she writes skipped my bilingual household and all of the others I grew up with.
But fortunately, we don’t know her ache.
“I’ve always wondered what it would be like to just belong,” she writes wistfully. “My father called me once when I was going through a particularly hard time and said, ‘I’m sorry I brought you up in such a complicated way.’”She appears to overlook that her well-deserved public ridicule stems from the truth that her own husband informed David Letterman “my wife is from Spain” — and at each flip, she’s perpetuated this obscure Iberian origin story to obscure the truth that she’s a boring ol’ Yankee.
She can’t back out of the lie, so she’s retains offering absolute nonsense. Hoping the monolingual morons will suppose it’s them, not her.

And what would a Hilaria Baldwin tell-all be with out a dive into her household’s aspect of the horrific unintentional “Rust” taking pictures that left cinematographer Halyna Hutchins lifeless — and her continued reminders that her husband suffered too, bodily and mentally.
“The tabloid media will likely create headlines from this chapter,” she writes. “It’s what they do. But I ask that we all have the decency to look beyond the headlines and remember what happened — someone died.”
Indeed, this did catch my eye. Because she’s used it as fodder to movie a actuality show and write a self-serving e book. And her fixed public choosing at scabs does no good for anybody’s therapeutic.
Hilaria claims to not need anybody’s approval, however begs for it at each flip.
