NDTV reported that Deepak admitted his crime to the police. It was claimed that the father admitted to shooting his daughter three times from behind because she refused to close her academy upon being told to do so.
Radhika had forged a career for herself as a professional tennis player, playing both singles and doubles on the ITF circuit. She had played 36 singles matches and seven doubles on the tour during his career.

Her last came in March 2024, before she reportedly turned to coaching rather than a playing career. In the aftermath of her passing, a friend of Yadav took to Instagram to pay tribute.
