NASCAR‘s foolish season isn’t turning out to be so foolish after all in 2025, with one other driver lineup set to stay unchanged subsequent season following the information of John Hunter Nemechek’s return to Legacy Motor Club for 2026.

Legacy revealed on Tuesday, after Nemechek completed thirty second at Watkins Glenin a weekend which noticed Connor Zilisch break his collarbone whereas celebrating his Xfinity win, that it had signed an extension with companion Pye-Barker Fire & Safety for the upcoming season, with the model set to function Nemechek’s main sponsor in 14 races subsequent season within the No. 42 Toyota.

This confirmed what was already suspected, which was that Legacy wouldn’t be liberating up both Nemechek or Jones’ seats subsequent season (the latter signed a multi-year extension in August 2024).

The 28-year-old has cracked the highest 10 on 5 additional events in 2025, setting him up for what may show to be his most profitable 12 months within the Cup so far.

“I think the biggest thing for me is just confidence, and I feel like I’m in a different headspace,” he advised Express U.S. Sports previous to his Twenty seventh-place end on the Coca-Cola 600 in May. “There’s been a lot of work for me, personally and professionally, over the offseason and I feel like I’m just in a better place as a human.

“Definitely seeing the light at the end of the tunnel of where this organization can go and how I can improve and help build this program. We’ve had ups and downs, for sure, but it’s been a continual building process. We’ve had really good weeks and some OK weeks, but consistency is there.

To date, Legacy’s solely win got here back in 2022 on the Cook Out Southern 500 due to Jones, though the workforce was branded Petty GMS Motorsports on the time. Since then, the workforce has completed a high of third on the 2023 Hollywood Casino 400 and on the 2025 Daytona 500, due to Jones and Johnson, respectively.
