Mamdani’s fatal snowstorm mishandling: Letters – Latest News
The Issue: The deaths of 17 New Yorkers following Mayor Mamdani’s pro-encampment homeless coverage.
Is Mayor Mamdani’s strategy for fixing the town’s housing disaster to encourage the homeless to freeze to death on the streets (“Mamdani’s City Is Not Functioning,” Editorial, Feb. 3)?
If what we’re seeing from the mayor is the heat of collectivism, I recommend that we return to rugged individualism.
The colder, the higher.
Joseph Koenig
Manhattan
If Mamdani is for the people, as he claims, then he ought to take heed to the homeless.
They have despatched their message loud and clear: They’d fairly freeze to death than go to a homeless shelter.
So it’s a no-brainer: Fix the homeless shelters.
Celia Oliva
Hopewell Junction
Mamdani promised the “warm embrace of collectivism,” however for New York City’s most susceptible, the implications are clear: 17 people have died during the latest cold snap, 13 of them from hypothermia, with three others showing overdose-related.
There’s nothing compassionate about leaving somebody who’s struggling to rot on a sidewalk.
By ending encampment sweeps, Mamdani surrendered public areas to squalor and dysfunction.
It’s time to stop prioritizing the rights of the hooked on stay in filth over the fitting of each New Yorker to stay in a protected, purposeful metropolis.
Todd Pittinsky
Port Jefferson
Mamdani’s disdainful perspective aligns with most of his Marxist heroes of the previous.
Did Joseph Stalin care if his comrades had been freezing to death in Siberia?
Did Chairman Mao care that his peasants had been ravenous to death as a consequence of his own man-made famine?
Did Fidel Castro care that the majority of his Cuban population had been dwelling in poverty during his total reign of over 40 years?
Marxists imagine the people below their control are all wards of the state, so if the population decreases, it’s simply much less price for these in energy.

Mayor Mamdani, 17 homeless people have died unnecessarily below your watch.
Why?
Your coverage on homeless encampments, with poor circumstances and lack of security in shelters, have lethal penalties.
Robert Neglia
The Bronx
If I’m not mistaken, Mamdani acknowledged what his coverage was concerning the homeless during his marketing campaign.
Now that he’s doing precisely what he mentioned, everybody’s up in arms.
This must be a lesson for all; you get what you vote for.
Perhaps people will suppose twice earlier than they pull the lever within the voting sales space the following time mayoral elections come round.

The Issue: Bad Bunny’s upcoming Super Bowl efficiency following his outspoken disdain for ICE.
Leave politics out of the Super Bowl (“Any ‘Bunny’ else would be better!” Feb. 4).
Children don’t wish to hear Bad Bunny’s opinion.
They’d fairly giggle at Bugs Bunny.
It’s all on NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and the house owners.
All they see is money.
John Migliaccio
LaGrangeville
The approval of Bad Bunny proves Goodell has misplaced his thoughts.
It’s not simply Bad Bunny’s slanted view of America: This is a family-friendly occasion and Goodell has condoned a crotch-grabbing “all about me” show.
Kid Rock will lead actual leisure on the rival show.

I’m so completely happy Bad Bunny is the Super Bowl halftime headliner.
I now have enough time to bathe, eat, verify my telephone and more, with out lacking something price watching.
How considerate of the organizers!
