Joe Scarborough burst into laughter on dwell TV Wednesday after President Trump launched a prolonged Truth Social tirade in opposition to him and his MS NOW colleagues as “Morning Joe” was airing.
The uncommon exchange, which was reported by Mediaite, unfolded in actual time because the panel was discussing latest reporting from the New York Times regarding Jeffrey Epstein and excerpts from journo Maggie Haberman’s forthcoming guide.
Moments into the dialog, Trump posted a broadside aimed toward Scarborough and the “Morning Joe” crew.

“Joe Scarborough’s ever shrinking, low rated show, one of the most inaccurate detailers of truthful facts on television, is being crushed in the ratings,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform early Wednesday.
“His serious case on [sic] Trump Derangement Syndrome, often referred to as TDS, has made him a laughing stock among those who know what is going on in the ‘Wonderful World of Television,’” the president continued.
“His show is being cut because his ratings are TERRIBLE, and Mike and Willie [Geist, a co-host of ‘Morning Joe’], who wants to be his father but doesn’t have the talent, are falling further and further into the TDS Swamp! They all suffer from Low Ratings Disease!!!”
Trump signed off, “President DJT.”
As information of the post reached the set, Scarborough interrupted the dialogue.
“Did this just happen? Did Donald just write us?” he requested.
Scarborough then started studying parts of Trump’s message aloud, together with the president’s description of “Morning Joe” as an “ever shrinking low-rated show” and accusations that the host was affected by “Trump derangement syndrome.”

The longtime host instantly pushed back.
“No, I don’t really have that,” Scarborough mentioned.
“I tell people that we actually talk on the phone, and sometimes I go talk to you in the White House, and we disagree on things, but nothing deranged here, sir,” he added.
“Unless you’re deranged, if there’s any derangement, it would have to be on your side of the relationship, because I’m not deranged, not about you. I just state the facts, and maybe that makes you deranged.”
Scarborough continued studying from the president’s post, arriving at a passage that claimed he had turn into “a laughingstock among those who know what’s going on in the wonderful world of television.”

The MS NOW host responded with heavy sarcasm.
“Yeah, that’s, that’s, that’s, that’s really hurts, that hurts, it’s, it hurts me that I’m being laughed at. Oh, what am I going to do? I don’t think I’m the one who’s being laughed at, sir,” Scarborough mentioned.
He then stopped and turned to his colleague, Geist.
“Willie, do you want to be my father?” he requested.
The panel then tried to find out what might have prompted Trump’s social media assault.
“I guess, was it Iran? I don’t know,” Scarborough mentioned.
“Was it [Graham] Platner?” co-host Mika Brzezinski requested.
“I don’t think it was Platner. What was it, Willie?” Scarborough replied.

Geist provided his own interpretation of the president’s feedback.
“First of all, you misinterpreted. That was a lovely compliment to my father, Bill Geist. I appreciate that,” he mentioned.
Bill Geist was a longtime CBS News correspondent and columnist for the New York Times.
Geist then steered a more probably clarification for Trump’s timing.
“They’ve known each other for, gosh, almost a half-century here in New York City,” he mentioned.
“So, I appreciate that, but I think what we were talking about, you’ll note, is the breaking news from the New York Times, and that excerpt from Maggie Haberman’s new book about the Epstein files.”
The suggestion drew an instant response from the desk.
“Oh, wow!” Scarborough exclaimed.
“Oh, my God,” Brzezinski added.
Geist argued that the subject had probably struck a delicate nerve.

“This is something you cannot mention around the president of the United States,” he mentioned.
Co-host Jonathan Lemire appeared to agree, noting that Trump had since posted further messages regarding US army strikes in opposition to Iran.
“I think clearly Epstein is a sensitivity,” Lemire added.
The exchange capped an atypical TV second wherein the president’s criticism grew to become half of a broadcast because it was underway, with the hosts reacting to Trump’s phrases virtually as shortly as they appeared online.
Scarborough finally shifted from mockery to a more direct message for the commander-in-chief.
“Well, thank you for chiming in, Mr. President. As always, we appreciate you watching the show, and as always, pray for your health, as I tell you, and pray for your well-being,” he mentioned.
The host then referenced a promise he mentioned he made initially of the 12 months.
“I am going to continue to double down praying for you, because on New Year’s Eve I said I would be praying for you, and hope that in the New Year you would remember what Jesus said, ‘Blessed are the peacemakers.’ 2026 hasn’t quite gone that way, has it?” Scarborough mentioned.
He closed the phase by pledging to proceed these prayers.
“I guess I got to double down with my prayers, my prayers haven’t been answered yet. I’m going to double, I’m going to pray without ceasing that he becomes a peacemaker,” Scarborough concluded.
