Team Penske’s Ryan Blaney took social media by storm over the vacations when he debuted his eye-catching new facial foliage, drawing loads of responses from NASCAR followers.

In place of his normal beard, the 32-year-old Cup Series star has as a substitute switched to a dense mustache many might solely dream of. Thankfully, whereas it might not be to everyone’s style, it appears Blaney’s spouse, Gianna, is a fan.

“I figured it was gonna get a big reaction because it’s out there, it’s full. I think most people like it. I think, so that’s good,” he instructed FOX Sports’ Bob Pockrass.

“I think people are just amazed by it, like that’s a massive cocoon animal on your lip. But yeah, I like it. 

“So I play with the beard stuff when I have it in the winter, and I usually go down to like mutton chops and like a handlebar and like a goatee and stuff, and I got it to this mustache, and my wife was like, ‘I like it.’ It’s like, ‘Yes ma’am, say less.’ I’m gonna rip with it.

“So it’s been good. I think the comments have been nice. Some of them might be a little harsh. I haven’t read most of them, but from people who I’ve seen, they seem to enjoy it.”

The feedback have certainly been largely optimistic, with one fan commenting on his lovely Christmas photograph along with Gianna and their child boy, Charley, “Lil man eyeing that glorious stache,” as one other felt it reminded them of one other NASCAR legend, commenting, “Love the Earnhardt stache!”

Meanwhile, fellow NASCAR star Ryan Truex described it as a “generational lip warmer.”

Speaking with Pockrass, Blaney went into element about how a lot effort goes into sustaining his lip “cocoon,” noting how he retains the remaining of his face clean-shaven and makes use of small scissors to deal with the “flyaways,” in an effort to keep it as “decent-looking as possible.”

“Sometimes I’m like why the heck am I doing this. But hey, it’s what it is,” Blaney later joked.

“I think it’s going to clean up a lot of the racing side of it and get back to the purity side of it to where it is a little bit more of not brash, a little bit more of the beautiful art form that I grew up loving.”
