NASCAR driver Natalie Decker has shot back at her critics, saying her underwear photograph with comic Bert Kreischer was an “in-the-moment” alternative.

“I’ve watched him for years, and when I had this opportunity to meet him and it was so spontaneous and in the moment and the people that truly know me and my personality, they’re like ‘yeah, that’s Natalie, like a hundred percent through and through and we’re proud of her.’
“So for the ladies that basically do not know me that properly, it is simply because they do not know like who I’m as a particular person and that I’m a little wild and enjoyable and loopy.”
