Gavin Newsom doesn’t appear to own a mirror.
Anytime he (verbally) addresses one of California’s many challenges, the predicament is another person’s fault.
Newsom ought to stand up and shoulder duty for the crises which have emerged or worsened on his watch, and offer concrete options.
Instead, he doles out blame.

On Monday, as an illustration, Newsom rebuked a record of counties –– together with the one named LA –– for failing to furnish a homelessness “paradigm shift” the governor had promised in 2022.
Turns out, the CARE courtroom program, meant to help households push mentally in poor health family members into therapy, has failed to fulfill expectations.
The downside? Not Newsom, who introduced on Monday a taxpayer money infusion of $291 million (atop the $300 million already spent on it) and mentioned:
“Local leaders have a moral and legal obligation to deliver this transformational tool for those who need it most. We will not accept failure and excuses when lives are on the line.”
The governor’s finger-pointing hardly stops there.

Poor fire preparedness? That wasn’t me, that was climate change.
Slow fire restoration? Donald Trump and the feds haven’t despatched enough money.

No phrase but on who’s responsible for a lack of reflective glass within the governor’s mansion.
