The Issue: A new report flagging 900+ NYC public colleges which were failing for more than a decade.
I don’t suppose anybody was stunned to study of the horrible state of our New York City public colleges. However, what all the time surprises me is how dad and mom proceed to vote for politicians who put the welfare of lecturers over the youngsters (“NYC’s Eternal School Failures,” Editorial, July 7).
As long as New York is managed by Democrats like Gov. Hochul, sensible options won’t ever be mentioned, a lot much less applied.

I used to be troubled to learn Success Academy’s latest evaluation claiming that New York City public colleges are failing college students.
As a longtime educator, I consider such claims deserve nearer examination.
Traditional public colleges are required to teach each baby who enrolls and don’t have the posh of selecting which college students they serve.
The metropolis’s public educators work tirelessly every single day to assist college students going through educational, social, emotional and financial challenges. Rather than diminishing their efforts, we must always acknowledge the complexity of their work and deal with options that strengthen schooling for all college students.

There isn’t any accountability with the New York public colleges. The union is just too robust. The college system is designed to guard itself as an alternative of serving to college students. The colleges must be run by an exterior group that doesn’t reply to the union.

Whether it’s Mayor Mamdani or Rep. Hakeem Jeffries boasting of their social gathering being inclusive of everybody, most Americans will refuse to be gaslit by their empty guarantees.
The Republican Party has a confirmed monitor file of being open to all who need a honest shot in a meritocracy.
The weight of actuality will trigger the Democratic Socialist social gathering to fold its tent, and the tenets of capitalism would be the one to carry all up.
