A latest survey has revealed that one in six drivers admit to having pushed with out insurance coverage. The ballot, which questioned 2,000 adults, discovered that just about half of the respondents had pushed uninsured within the previous two years.

Despite this, the study did show that 32% of drivers stopped driving uninsured after being informed of the offence by a friend or family member. Meanwhile, 27% obtained insurance as soon as it became financially feasible for them.

For 18%, the prompt to take action came after being stopped by the police.
