Las Vegas Raiders star Maxx Crosby has openly expressed his desire for the team to pursue Aaron Rodgers following his release from the New York Jets.

The Jets have signaled that Rodgers isn’t in their future plans, hinting at an attempt to trade the veteran quarterback before considering cutting ties with him entirely, especially with free agency approaching on March 10.

Although Rodgers’ future has been uncertain amidst questions about demand for the acclaimed quarterback in free agency, three teams — notably the New York Giants, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Crosby’s own Raiders — are in search of a quarterback.

With options slim, it seems likely that Rodgers might be suiting up for another season in 2025.

While some players have expressed opposition to Rodgers joining their squads, Crosby, one of the NFL’s elite defenders and captain of the Raiders, is lobbying hard for his addition. He has directly appealed to the team’s new co-owner, Tom Brady, to consider signing Rodgers.

On his podcast, ‘The Rush with Maxx’, Crosby shared his thoughts: “The first year off an Achilles is one of the hardest things to do. You see it with Kirk (Cousins of Atlanta Falcons), Kirk had a down year.

“It happened with Aaron, he struggled early on but got better as the season went. I think with all the doubt and all the negativity around Aaron – people saying he needs to retire and things like that, getting cut by the Jets – I think he’s going to come back and have a big year.

“I know he’s 42 or 41 but I think he’s going to have a big year this year. And I hope it is in our town.”

Rodgers is reportedly taking his time to make a decision about his future after learning that the Jets would be releasing him, waiting to gauge solid interest before making his next move.

The Jets made it official last month that they’re parting ways with Rodgers, coinciding with the hiring of new head coach Aaron Glenn and new general manager Darren Mougey.

“Last week we met with Aaron and shared that our intention was to move in a different direction at quarterback,” Glenn and Mougey said in a joint statement.

“It was important to have this discussion now to provide clarity and enable each of us the proper time to plan for our respective futures. We want to thank him for the leadership, passion, and dedication he brought to the organization and wish him success moving forward.”
