U.S. tennis legend Andy Roddick has given Coco Gauff a huge confidence boost ahead of her maiden Wimbledon semi-final look. Gauff, 22, faces Czech Karolína Muchová, on Center Court, on Thursday, for a spot in Saturday’s remaining in opposition to one of Marta Kostyuk or Linda Nosková.

“And it’s just… It’s amazingly fun to see. Listen, there’s no reason she’s got a big record, five or one or six and one against Muchová. Like she’s got to think she can win this tournament. She’s got to think she can win this tournament.”

Gauff was requested ahead of her semi-final if she felt profitable Wimbledon was half of her future. The American shied away from making such a declaration.

“I mean, I’m a believer in God and everything. So I do feel like in a way like the story is like already written,” Gauff responded. “But is Wimbledon part of my story? I don’t know. I can’t tell you. But I do think there is some matches that I play where I feel like it was a bit destiny.

“I mean one of them was like my final of US Open. Like I still don’t remember the match. Like I feel like I genuinely like blacked out during that match and I can only remember like one point really clearly and it wasn’t even a match point.”

She added,” So, I undoubtedly assume that there’s moments the place I play and it’s like no matter what’s going to occur right now, I’m going to win. But do I really feel like I’m like is do I really feel like Wimbledon is a component of my future?

“If you asked me like seven days ago, apparently the answer would have been no. I would just been like, yeah, honestly, I was like writing it off a little bit. But I hope it is part of my destiny, whether it’s this year or in the future. I definitely would love to see my name on the champions wall for sure.”

Gauff holds a more-than-favorable head-to-head document in opposition to Muchová. The pair have met on seven earlier events. However, none have come on the grass courts of Wimbledon. Gauff has received six of seven conferences.
