1. SF rocked by curious new species (‘hot girls’)

by Blake Dodge, Writer

BREAKING NEWS: SAN FRANCISCO, A FAMOUSLY SEXLESS CITY, IS NOW GRAPPLING WITH HOTNESS. This week, Celeste Amadon launched a viral “hot list” of the town’s most datable people — all, like, 87 of them.

And more curiously, “deep-tech founder” and hottie-with-a-body Georgia Witchel printed an essay on X, seen by 1.2 million people, that detailed tech’s “Hot Girl Renaissance.”

Evidently, as Georgia wrote, there’s backlash at SF ladies posting network-y thirst traps, and usually leveraging their hotness for consideration, amongst self-righteous male nerds who really feel that it’s beneath the town’s intellectual, erudite values.

But she (autistically) did the maths — and these posts get disproportionate consideration at a time when promoting something just about requires that. Case in level: “an insurance company” — Corgi, which runs a buzzy cafe staffed by scorching ladies — “is currently the most-discussed brand in tech.”

Relax, everyone. Sex sells. SF is simply late to the celebration as a result of none of y’all have been having any intercourse.

2. Snitch Machine 9000

by Evan Milenko, Writer

Last month, Anthropic reported a man to SFPD over his AI chat logs, in keeping with The San Francisco Standard.

In his chats, the person made threats in opposition to Dario Amodei and in addition acknowledged he “was going to kill everyone at Anthropic.” The Standard later contacted the person — who was neither arrested nor charged — and he mentioned he was, ahem, messing round.

That man is actually me, figuratively. My mood flares too when the bots refuse my gentle fraud requests, and my chats then grow to be mildly genocidal. Can you blame me?

This is a nation of clergymen and legal professionals. AI instruments that snitch on us are merely not American. The expectation of an intimate chat, whether or not rooted in actuality or not, is privateness.

And we should always attempt to keep them personal. Moving ahead, I counsel an AIttorney-client privilege. Until then, suppose twice earlier than you (unseriously) threaten the people building the Machine God — to the Machine God.

3. “To the moon!” *hits pipe*

by Riley Nork, Writer

Setting apart fears that his return to the highlight was all for some elaborate grift, Hunter Biden is… launching a meme coin.

Dubbed “$LAPTOP” in reference to his prior scandal, Hunter’s coin debuted with a baked-in barb at Trump: Tokens shall be straight despatched to the crypto wallets of those that misplaced money on the president’s meme coin (and in addition to me, after I ask Solana for my subsequent wage completely in $LAPTOP).

Ironically although, Hunter’s attempt to dunk on the president for shady crypto shenanigans consists of some significantly shady crypto shenanigans: After showing on Andrew Callaghan’s Channel 5 podcast, Biden apparently requested the emails for all of Callaghan’s Patreon subscribers, who’re presently being spammed with Laptop-coin promo.

Now what kinda man goes on a show simply to hijack the host’s subscriber record and proceeds to bombard them with crypto scams and oh wait yeah nevermind a crackhead. A crackhead would do that.
