Regional service Silver Airways introduced Wednesday it’s shutting down operations after a failed attempt at restructuring by chapter, leaving some passengers stranded at airports in Florida, the Bahamas and the Caribbean.
“Please do not go to the airport,” the Hollywood, Florida-based company posted on its web site.
The assertion mentioned Silver had bought its belongings by the Chapter 11 chapter continuing to a holding company that “unfortunately has determined to not continue Silver’s flight operations” that served 5 Florida cities and 11 island locations.

Passengers can search refunds by their credit card issuer or journey company, the Silver assertion mentioned.
Silver’s fleet had been lowered to only eight ATR turboprop planes and its workforce cut from 608 to 348 pilots, flight attendants and ground staff, in line with the company.

An electronic mail to workers from Silver’s CEO mentioned most of these jobs will probably be eradicated.
Silver Airways started operations in 2011 and as soon as served 28 locations.
