A Florida mom and her daughter sued Campbell’s after eating SpaghettiOs that they declare had been contaminated by worms or parasites, and subsequently unfit to eat.

In a criticism filed on Tuesday, Mary Hubbard mentioned she found the alleged contamination round June 6, 2024, after she and her daughter, often called P.L., started eating SpaghettiOs at their home in Okeechobee County.

There “appeared to be worms or parasites actively moving within the food,” and Hubbard shot videos that “clearly depict worm-like organisms moving within the food product,” the criticism mentioned.

Hubbard mentioned she purchased the pasta at Walmart, which can be a defendant.

Campbell’s, based mostly in Camden, NJ, mentioned Wednesday it declines to touch upon pending litigation. Walmart didn’t instantly reply to requests for remark.

Hubbard and P.L. claimed to endure parasitic infections from eating their SpaghettiOs, whereas the mom reported gastrointestinal sickness and sepsis and her daughter reported nausea and vomiting.

The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages of a minimum of $75,000 from Campbell’s and Walmart for alleged negligence and violating a federal food security law. P.L.’s father can be a plaintiff.

Lawyers for the plaintiffs didn’t instantly reply to requests for added particulars.

SpaghettiOs had been launched in 1965, and marketed then as “the world’s first spoonable spaghetti.”

It is common for food producers to be sued for alleged contamination, typically in response to lab checks, recollects or health alerts.

In April 2025, the US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service issued a public health alert for 12 soups, together with 4 with the Campbell’s model, that it mentioned may very well be contaminated with wooden in a federally regulated ingredient, cilantro.

Tuesday’s lawsuit was filed within the Fort Pierce, Florida, federal courtroom, and assigned to US District Judge Aileen Cannon.
