Citing their quite a few successes collectively, Marks stated he was “super proud of that but it is a business and sometimes when you’re faced with an opportunity for the future and you’re growing and you’re doing things, you have to make difficult decisions and this one was very, very difficult for us.”

“We left in just like a really really good place, and we gave a big hug to each other and just said, ‘Man, let’s just go give it hell, try to get this 99 car in victory lane this year.’ And that’s what we’re going to do, is just finish this thing really, really strong with him and put a lot of effort and support and everything behind him,” Marks defined.

“This is when the business gets tough is because sometimes it puts you in positions that are uncomfortable emotionally and personally and that’s certainly what this week was but Daniel’s a class act you know you still got a great future in NASCAR and and we’re always going to be proud of what we were able to do together.”
