Former Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte has blamed medication and alcohol for feeling “lost” after divorcing ex-wife, Kayla Rae Reid, however he now feels at peace after taking a $30,000-a-year job as an assistant swimming and diving coach.

He claimed that her family has welcomed him from the start, and that the change of environment has given him a new lease of life. “They didn’t care that I used to be Ryan Lochte, the swimmer. They simply wished to know me,” Lochte added.
“And they fell in love with me. I fell in love with them. And each time that we go back to Missouri, I really feel like at home… I simply really feel at peace.” While Lochte has been through some difficult moments, he is now grateful he can reflect on his journey and help others.
“No-one ever taught me what occurs whenever you grow to be well-known or whenever you get all this money,” Lochte said. “No one ever informed me about financial literacy. No one ever informed me about ever whenever you’re on high of the mountain and also you fall down, how to get back up. No one by no means taught me that.
“But now I did it. I guess I was the guinea pig for myself and now I can honestly change people’s lives. I can help them, make them reach their dreams, their goals that I once had when I was a little kid and I could help them get there.”
