Cody Rhodes had a night to forget on Saturday night after John Cena turned heel against him in the dying moments of the Elimination Chamber show, and now it’s claimed he suffered two dramatic injuries at the hands of rapper Travis Scott.

WWE champion Rhodes appeared at Elimination Chamber on Saturday night at the end of the event as part of a sequence with Cena. After winning the men’s elimination chamber, Cena was joined in the ring by Rhodes, The Rock and Scott.

Despite showing respect to him, Cena challenged Rhodes to a fight at Wrestlemania, saying: “I respect the hell out of you…. The people know it’s you and me at Wrestlemania.”

After that brief moment of respect, Rhodes’ long-term rival The Rock appeared to see if Rhodes would ‘sell his soul’ – before the champion replied: “Go f— yourself”.

That led to Cena turning heel and attacking Rhodes, before The Rock and Scott joined in.

However, it seems Grammy-nominee Scott may have taken things a bit too far, with reports suggesting Rhodes suffered real-world injuries as a result of his part win the fight.

Scott stepped into the ring after Cena had attacked Rhodes before slapping him on the side of his face and pulling his hair. The attack left Rhodes with a busted eardrum and a black eye.

The strike caused a stir on social media, with most believing Scott would hit him with a worked punch – where the person doesn’t actually hit them but rather uses the mat to create the impression of contact. Despite the controversy, ‘The Rock’ was proud of what Scott had done and suggested he could return to the WWE in the future.

He said: “I feel like with Travis, he loves the business and loves pro wrestling. He’s a culture guy. Travis Scott is one of the greatest already, of all time. He’s a GOAT, a legend, an icon, he loves the business.

“He wanted to get, to steal a term, he wanted to get his hands bloody. I whispered to him as we were going out, ‘if you get your hands bloody, make it count. Make it count.’ He slapped the sh*t out of Cody. He was really hyped up.

“Travis landed, we went in, had some words, chopped up what the night was going to look like, and I caught a contact high for about three hours, and I loved it. I need Travis every time I do an appearance. Travis smoke with Teremana, it’s game over.”
