Amazon closes purchase of 522 Fifth Ave. – Business News

The deal adopted its $1 billion purchase of the previous Lord & Taylor building and huge leases at three different buildings.
But Jeff Bezos wasn’t accomplished. On Friday, Amazon closed on the purchase of 522 Fifth Ave. from Aby Rosen’s RFR Realty, as reported by the Real Deal.

The price wasn’t disclosed, however the acquisition added 600,000 more sq. toes to Amazon’s presence right here.
This, from a company many stated would abandon New York after its bid for a regional headquarters campus in Queens was scuttled by elected officers in 2016.
As CBRE dealmaker Stephen B. Siegel advised us a few weeks in the past, “Never give up on New York City or the availability of capital here.”
