Back to the moon

Billions have been spent on this project to ship astronauts to the moon (“New space age launches,” April 2).

NASA’s Artemis II mission to fly by the moon, comprising of the Space Launch System (SLS) rocket with the Orion crew capsule, lifts off from the Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida, U.S. April 1, 2026.

What is the benefit? Was a cost-benefit evaluation carried out? Would that money be higher spent on most cancers analysis and serving to our veterans? I feel it might.

Draft for geezers

Fascist actor Rob Schneider, who’s by no means put on a uniform, has the audacity to demand that “every American, at 18, must serve two years of military service” (“Actor: Reinstate the draft,” March 30).

I recommend that solely outdated geezers who harbor such views be compelled into two years of involuntary servitude.

Remember Iryna

Miranda Devine is correct on course in calling out Democratic Providence Mayor Brett Smiley and Rhode Island Rep. David Morales for his or her cluelessness and insensitive cruelty in supporting the removing of a mural honoring Iryna Zarutska from the aspect of a Providence building (“Dems ‘bluewashing’ away crime shame,” April 2).

This younger girl was stabbed to death on a practice by a lunatic on the free with a number of prior arrests, and these two elected dolts cite their “values” as motive for obliterating her reminiscence. What variety of people are they?

The sadder reality is that these hapless political hacks have been elected by daily, witless voters who’re apparently oblivious to the which means of the phrases compassion, empathy and “values.”

Palm Sunday err

Your article headline fully misrepresents what occurred on Palm Sunday in Jerusalem (“Holy hell for shut church,” March 30).

Jewish prayer gatherings have been additionally banned for causes of security during this time when missiles have hit each public and personal locations in Israel. It’s unhappy that reporters didn’t present this context. Jerusalemites have had to keep close to bomb shelters 24/7 as life in the metropolis is now fairly precarious.

If New York was underneath assault, would the metropolis permit public gatherings? Jerusalemites are actually remoted at home like they have been during the pandemic.

No more redlining

It’s onerous to think about an article complaining about red-lined college districts with none point out of constitution faculties (“End Public-School Legacy ‘Redlining,’ ” Tim Deroche, PostOpinion, March 31).

Without the disruption related to redistricting, constitution faculties might be expanded to give mother and father a alternative of academic alternatives for his or her youngsters. Furthermore, the state may increase the quantity of charters, if academics agreed.

Look into compelled busing that was tried many years in the past. That spurred the growth of suburbia.

Pricey Mickey D’s

I don’t know what people anticipated food-delivery charges to be when the intellectually challenged politicians raised the minimal wage to $17 an hour (“They’re not lovin’ it,” April 1).

Didn’t they understand that costs would replicate the elevated labor costs?

Wait till Mayor Mamdani raises the minimal to $30 an hour. And if affordability is so out of control, who is definitely having a Big Mac delivered?
