Brand logos often become staples in our lives, with certain images becoming ingrained in our minds over time.

But, some of these logos harbour incredibly clever meanings beneath their surface. The motoring giant Hyundai is one such brand with a significant emblem.

At first glance, it might seem like a straightforward “H” for Hyundai, but there’s actually a smart “hidden meaning” behind it. Online talk has highlighted that the logo’s design is particularly striking because it symbolises a handshake being made.

A recent TikTok revelation by content creator therealoshow has sparked a wave of astonishment. In his video, he revealed: “This one I had no idea about, but Hyundai’s slanted H is actually meant to represent two people shaking hands – the sales person and the customer.”

He illustrated this with an image showing two figures forming the “slanted H” with their handshake. It’s since left people totally stunned.

Since the unveiling of this concept, many have expressed their amazement, while others were sceptical. One said: “I think the Hyundai one is a bit of a stretch.”

Another added: “I thought Hyundai was just Honda’s logo in Italics.” Others simply acknowledged their previous unawareness with remarks such as: “I thought the Hyundai logo was a H.”

Meanwhile, a fourth commented: “These are great.” Opinions on the matter varied but, some people may be surprised, as there is a significant meaning behind the well-known logo.

What does the Hyundai logo actually mean?

Despite the mixed reactions, the true essence of the Hyundai logo is indeed a representation of two individuals shaking hands – reflecting the company’s commitment to customer satisfaction.

The emblem of Hyundai, often mistaken for a simple “H”, actually holds a deeper meaning – symbolizing the handshake between a company representative and a satisfied customer. The silver oval encapsulating the “H” is not just for style; it’s a nod to Hyundai’s ambition for worldwide expansion.

The website explains: “When looking at the company logo, most people see an ‘H’, representing Hyundai. But there is more to it: the emblem also symbolises two people shaking hands – a company representative on one side and a satisfied customer on the other.

“The oval around them signifies Hyundai’s global presence. And, by the way: the Korean word ‘Hyundai’ means ‘Modern’, which neatly fits with the brand’s progressive spirit expressed in ‘New Thinking. New Possibilities’.”
