General Motors laying off 200 employees in Detroit – Business News
DETROIT – General Motors is laying off employees at its all-electric Factory Zero plant in Detroit the place it’s adjusting manufacturing “to align with market dynamics,” the company stated Thursday.
About 200 employees on the plant will probably be briefly laid off, based on a company source. The transfer will not be associated to lately imposed auto tariffs, based on the source.
Factory Zero is home to the Chevrolet Silverado EV, GMC Sierra EV, Hummer EV SUV and pickup and all-electric Escalade IQ.
Factory Zero has about 4,500 employees, based on the company’s web site.
