Just weeks after a crazed killer fatally shot conservative Charlie Kirk, a liberal choose let off Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s would-be murderer with a sentence of a mere eight years, as an alternative of the 30 years prosecutors sought.

Is there any surprise “assassination culture” is on the rise?

Good for Attorney General Pam Bondi for vowing to have the Justice Department appeal this outrageous, misguided leniency.

“The attempted assassination of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh was a disgusting attack against our entire judicial system by a profoundly disturbed individual,” Bondi tweeted.

“@TheJusticeDept will be appealing the woefully insufficient sentence.”

In issuing the sentence, Judge Deborah Boardman (who was appointed by President Joe Biden) apparently took pity on Nicholas Roske, who got here from California with a pistol, ammunition, zip ties, pepper spray and housebreaking instruments in a plot to kill the right-leaning justice at his Maryland home after the Supreme Court’s determination to strike down Roe v. Wade.

Roske later admitted he was focusing on not less than three justices in a bid to alter the court docket’s choices “for decades to come,” per the feds.

True, Roske — who got here out as a trans lady after being nabbed and now goes by the title “Sophie” — seems to have been struggling mental points.

But Kirk’s killer and the two males who tried to assassinate President Donald Trump nearly certainly had psychological issues, too. That’s commonplace.

Meanwhile, Democrats can’t appear to halt their inflammatory rhetoric about these on the proper, and disturbed people interpret that as a message that conservatives need to be focused.

Showing these people leniency solely encourages more violence.

“The sentence imposed in this case must send the powerful message” that the “ends never justify the means and that the consequences are not worth engaging in these acts,” prosecutors harassed.

Absolutely proper.

It’s up to judges to make sure these penalties are critical enough.
