H&M closing two big Manhattan stores in setback – Business News
Retailer H&M will shutter two giant Manhattan stores in January, in accordance with postings on the state Labor Department web web site.
The doomed stores are at 18 Church St. on the World Trade Center and 150 E. 86th St. The closings will dump a complete of 55,000 sq. ft of space on the market at a time when the Big Apple’s retail scene, though enhancing from the worst months of the pandemic, continues to wrestle at some places.

The shutdowns are half of Swedish-owned H&M’s plan to close about 200 of more than 4,300 stores it operates globally as half of a cost-cutting effort.
Eight H&M places can be left in the town after the Manhattan store closures.
