The Issue: The idea of “suicidal empathy,” the place compassion overrides one’s own security and survival.
Miranda Devine referred to the phrase “suicidal empathy” when describing a lady who refused to cooperate with police as a result of she didn’t wish to put one other black man in jail (“Women’s misplaced empathy threatens all of us,” May 11).

Let’s simply call it what it’s: “plain stupidity.”

Suicidal empathy, in lowest phrases, is a lack of common sense.
