Keir Starmer has issued a major update on Labour’s fuel duty plans, with petrol and diesel expenses set to increase within the coming months. Fuel duty is scheduled to increase from the autumn as the primary half of a reversal of the 5p cut to the tax, launched by the Conservatives in 2022.

The first price hike is scheduled to return into impact progressively from September, with additional will increase in December and March 2027. She claimed that Tories have been “on the side of drivers” and boasted of their report of freezing fuel duty charges yearly since 2011.
