New Disney CEO announces 1,000 job cuts via email – Business News
The Walt Disney Company’s new chief government introduced in an early morning Tuesday email that the leisure giant would slash 1,000 jobs within the newest blow to a main Hollywood studio.
“Given the fast-moving pace of our industries, this requires us to constantly assess how to foster a more agile and technologically-enabled workforce to meet tomorrow’s needs,” Disney CEO Josh D’Amaro wrote in an email to staff, in accordance with Reuters.
“As a result, we will be eliminating roles in some parts of the company,” he added.
The layoffs will hit a wide selection of departments, together with Disney’s studio and tv divisions, in addition to sports activities powerhouse ESPN.
