New Motek restaurant comes to coveted Midtown – Business News

Happy Corner Hospitality, the restaurant company behind the growing, Miami-born Motek model, has nailed down its happiest nook but.

Motek signed a lease at 60 W. 57th St. — the coveted southeast nook of Sixth Avenue and 57th Street that was home to Rue 57 for a quarter-century, The Post has realized.

The new, 6,700 square-foot Mediterranean/Middle Eastern cafe will open subsequent spring, a spokesperson mentioned.

It would be the Manhattan flagship for Motek, which already has two thriving areas in Flatiron and Williamsburg and can quickly change a Serafina outpost on the Upper West Side.

All eyes had been on the heavily-trafficked Rue 57 nook after the French-themed brasserie closed final spring. Sources mentioned Motek bested a number of different high-profile eatery empires that additionally bid on the space.

The menu hasn’t been introduced. The lunch and dinner choices at always-mobbed Flatiron Motek at 928 Broadway lists hummus, mezze, shawarma plates, avenue food akin to crispy chicken schnitzel, salads, kebabs and steakhouse cuts, amongst different classes.

The launch will put much-needed life back within the long block of West 57th Street between Fifth and Sixth avenues, the place shops have closed and buildings had been demolished in preparation for main new development tasks.
