Out-of-touch wealth on TV and more: Letters – Latest News
Out-of-touch TV
The hazard in tv’s latest trend of that includes characters residing existence of the wealthy and well-known is that it may well additional marginalize those that are struggling in poverty (“Money, money, money,” Aug. 23).
Instead of inspiring working-class viewers, such shows of wealth can discourage those that could really feel they’ll’t keep up with the materialism they see on their favourite collection.
Hollywood must do a higher job of creating content material that speaks to on a regular basis Americans, abandoning the spectacle of wealth for the substance of good storytelling.

I used to be each shocked and thrilled to learn that murderers Lyle and Erik Menendez have been denied parole by the California Parole Board (“2nd killer bro loses parole bid,” Aug. 23).
For as soon as, the Golden State bought it proper.
These degenerate murderers will now have to attend three more long years for his or her subsequent attempt for a freedom they richly don’t and by no means will deserve.

Snoop LGBTQ woes
Maybe all of the marijuana has fried Snoop Dogg’s mind to the purpose the place he can’t determine how to clarify why two girls can have a youngster collectively (“ ‘Gay’ kids film stuns Snoop,” Aug. 26).
I assume he would have the identical dilemma attempting to clarify to a younger youngster how a man and girl have a youngster with out going into the birds and the bees.

Crack’s switch-up
The far-left nonetheless doesn’t get that the hard-up rejection of American tradition is extremely nonprofitable.
Whether it’s Nike, Bud Light or Cracker Barrel, squashing the power that’s America is a main turn-off (“Crack cries uncle,” Aug. 27).
There is delight in all that’s good about America and our rustic, hard-earned character that’s true of all our numerous countryfolk.
If you need to make a assertion, make artwork.
If you need to make money, lean into all that’s America, her capitalism included.

No driver, no prob
Waymo taxis are certain for New York City, and many voters are involved (“Cab’s an automatic,” Aug. 26).
While some crave recent air, I crave recent silence and the serenity that comes with a peaceable drive.
When no one’s within the driver’s seat, there’s no chance of small discuss.
No awkward pauses, no prodding questions and no eyes darting back and forth within the rearview mirror.
I’m excited for newfound productiveness. I can catch up on sleep, doodle passing cloud formations on an itemized receipt or stick my head out the window like a blissful canine, tongue and all.

Kushner Gratitude
As the kid of Holocaust survivors, I need to commend and thank Ambassador Charles Kushner for his very eloquent and highly effective letter to French President Emmanuel Macron, urging him to instantly deal with the alarming, speedy rise in antisemitism in France and the egregious lack of motion by the French authorities (“France’s American diplo slap,” Aug. 26).
Nobel laureate Elie Wiesel mentioned, “One person of integrity can make a difference.” Macron has the chance and obligation to be that individual.
If he takes on this function, different European leaders will observe.
