(*34*) than 120,000 refrigerators are being recalled over a fire and burn hazard after federal regulators acquired 34 studies of fires, together with one which reportedly resulted in a death.
About 121,680 Galanz Retro Refrigerators are affected by the recall, the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) introduced on Thursday.
“The recalled refrigerators’ internal electrical components can short-circuit and ignite, posing a risk of serious injury or death from fire and burn hazards,” the commission mentioned.
Affected refrigerators have date codes starting from December 2018 via December 2020.
The refrigerators had been offered in black, blue, purple and white, measuring about 58 inches tall, 24 inches deep and 21 inches vast.
The refrigerators have both left-hand opening or right-hand opening doorways with handles, three adjustable glass cabinets and one drawer.
The high freezer has a separate door, one drawer and “Galanz” printed on the entrance.
The gadgets had been offered at Home Depot shops throughout the nation and online at Amazon between January 2019 and September 2022 for between $330 and $520.
