Premier rehearsal facility Open Jar Studios – Business News
Open Jar Studios, a premier rehearsal facility for Broadway exhibits, is stretching its legs to a close by Times Square location.
The authentic 50,000-square-foot Open Jar at 1601 Broadway will quickly be joined by a 40,000-square-foot complicated within the Paramount Building at 1501 Broadway. The third-floor facility will add 17 areas designed for rehearsals, auditions and coaching for theatrical artists.

“This expansion comes at the perfect time as we’ve seen a major increase in creative development and the need for greater capacity,” Open Jar founder Jeff Whiting stated.
The tenant was repped by Lincoln Property Company. Its senior vice-president of leasing, Jeffrey Rosenblatt, stated that whereas 1601 Broadway’s 22-foot ceilings are suited to main exhibits, the new location at 1501 “will be for smaller studios that do not require the double height.”
The landmark Paramount Building, former website of the famed Paramount Theater, is over 90% leased — together with to full-floor CityPickle, as we reported in February.
The authentic Open Jar opened in 2019 and hosted rehearsals for exhibits corresponding to “The Lost Boys” and “Moulin Rouge!” Open Jar’s backers embody the Shubert Organization and National Artists Management.
