Adams’ mare ban
Why is Mayor Adams calling for a carriage horse ban now? It’s clearly a ploy to win some voters who’re by no means going to vote for him anyway (“ ‘Mare’ Adams: Neigh,” Sept. 18).
Please don’t fall for it. It didn’t work for Bill de Blasio on his approach in and it received’t work for Adams on his approach out.

Cancel Kirk-haters
Former Washington Post columnist Karen Attiah was supposedly fired for anti-Charlie Kirk statements she made on Bluesky after Kirk was gunned down at an occasion in Utah (“Kirk posts did me in: ex-scribe,” Sept. 16).
Attiah’s declare: “As a columnist, I used my voice to defend freedom and democracy, challenge power and reflect on culture and politics with honesty and conviction. Now, I am the one being silenced — for doing my job.”
Well, that’s all nice and dandy — however, as I recall, it was these on the left who, for a quantity of years, made it their job to silence anybody and everybody who overtly disagreed with their positions.
Back then, it was known as “cancel culture,” however it was in some ways precisely what is going on to anybody overtly disparaging Charlie Kirk right this moment. How does it really feel now that the shoe is on the opposite foot?
I feel it’s a truthful sport. So, Attiah, if the shoe matches, put on it.

Pomps for Trump
The British authorities and royal members of the family prostituted themselves by permitting President Trump’s unprecedented second state go to to their nation (“Trump fete fit for a king,” Sept. 18).
Disgusting. By making an attempt to ingratiate themselves with a narcissistic sociopath like Trump, Britain can no longer take the ethical lead in world affairs. Did Trump quietly use his go to to satisfy up with Prince Andrew? Both have been pricey pals of Jeffrey Epstein and no doubt have a great deal of catching up to do.

Manchin’s flip-flop
When somebody is doing an about-face on Democrats, why is there all the time a new e book concerned (“Manchin rooting for GOP,” Sept. 16)?
Former Sen. Joe Manchin had many alternatives to stop dumb Democratic laws, just like the disastrous $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan Act. He known as Joe Biden out in non-public, but he caved when it got here time to vote on the problem.
This, together with different revelations he outlines in his e book — together with his want for the GOP to win control of the Senate in 2024 — are nothing more than money grabs that say, “I screwed up. I knew it was wrong, but voted for it anyway.”

Take Vlad on subsequent
Bully for you, President Trump, for taking out a Venezuelan motorboat with three alleged narco-terrorists aboard (“ ‘Drug boat’ hit,” Sept. 16).
Now, when are you going to essentially display some guts and integrity and tackle an worldwide bully like Vladimir Putin, the person who began the Ukrainian conflagration and prolongs that democratic nation’s agony to this very day?
