The Gilgo Beach monster: Letters to the Editor – Latest News
The Issue: Rex Heuermann’s guilty plea for the homicide of eight girl as the Gilgo Beach serial killer.
Rex Heuermann confessed to homicide by strangulation of eight younger ladies (“A monster’s confession,” April 9).
Sadly, these younger women trusted him. If ever there was ever an illustration of the need for the death penalty in New York, it’s proper in entrance of everybody’s eyes.
I’m sorry, however Heuermann doesn’t deserve to give you the chance to proceed his life whereas his victims endlessly can not.

I respectfully request the decide assign Heuermann an writer to write this story out in e book kind. Then any earnings from the e book deal must be put into a fund to be cut up amongst the eight households of the victims.
This is a horrible state of affairs, and as the FBI conducts its full inquiry, I hope investigators ask themselves what we will study from this tragedy, and how we will higher educate ladies to defend themselves.

The “monster” deserved the punishment he’s getting for killing these younger ladies. Yet these poor harmless women had been already on the manner to self-destruction, being exploited and corrupted by their pimps.
Therefore, actual justice requires life imprisonment for these pimps too. Who is aware of how many more harmless younger women and boys are being destroyed and exploited by pimps and medicines.

The Gilgo Beach serial killer has pleaded guilty. The prosecutor urges life in jail with out the risk of parole (the most sentence allowed in New York state).
Still, I favor the death penalty. Life in jail will price taxpayers tens of hundreds of {dollars} yearly. Why spend that sort of money on a deranged killer? What benefit will society gain by offering him three meals a day? In one phrase, nothing.

If there was ever a justification for a much-needed death penalty in New York state, it might be now. Heuermann would match that class past a shadow of anybody’s doubt, although sadly, that penalty was overturned in 2007.
He will now spend the relaxation of his life in jail. I extremely doubt that his life received’t be interrupted in some way.

The Issue: Mayor Mamdani’s incapacity to ship on his marketing campaign promise of free buses in New York City.
Should it actually shock anybody that a man who has by no means had a job is now getting hit with the actuality that he can’t keep his marketing campaign guarantees (“Free busing hits dead end,” April 9)?
Nice job, New York City.

Mayor Mamdani doesn’t have to fear about free buses on Staten Island. For years, the majority of riders haven’t been paying on native buses and simply stroll on.
It is so blatant how adults, teenagers and seniors simply stroll on with out paying. Maybe at some point the center class will probably be included in the “freebies.”
Maria Musolino

Hey, New York voters, did you actually suppose you had been going to get free buses? Then meet me down at the Fulton Fish Market; there’s a stunning bridge for sale low cost.
One would by no means go broke underestimating the stupidity of the New York voter. You deserve the whole lot you get in the subsequent 4 years.

Mamdani mentioned there will probably be no free buses this yr. So he lied to us.
That’s like when the scorpion mentioned to the frog crossing that river on its back, “I will not sting you,” and it did sting the frog, main to their deaths. Why? That’s the scorpion’s nature.
