The Issue: President Trump signing an govt order pushing states to end cashless bail.

As a native New Yorker, I’ve seen town and its surrounding areas have fallen prey to progressive insurance policies and unbearable Albany politicians (“Don: Banner day for cashless,” Aug. 26).

In no manner, form or type do I think about myself a fan of President Trump, but I do agree with him on shifting to nix the inane cashless bail system that has clearly failed right here in our metropolis.

Elmont

Unlike disgraced ex-Gov. Andrew Cuomo, socialist wannabe-mayor Zohran Mamdani and former Mayor Bill de Blasio, President Trump is exercising common sense in making an attempt to end cashless bail.

Cashless bail doesn’t shield law-abiding residents or guarantee justice, however expedites criminals’ return to the streets. Cashless bail defies logic.

President Trump threatening to revoke federal funding for jurisdictions with lax bail insurance policies is genius.

Giovanni Costello

Sunnyside

Although President Trump signed an govt order that can go after cities which have a cashless bond coverage in place, don’t take a victory leap simply but.

If Zohran Mamdani turns into New York City’s subsequent mayor, he would possibly get rid of misdemeanors.

Wait and see how dangerous that can work out for law-abiding of us.

Martin Garfinkle

Staten Island

The imperiling cashless bail coverage, coupled with lax judges, has been the impetus for recidivist criminals to commit crimes with impunity.

The legislators in these liberal jurisdictions who permit for such insurance policies to exist must be universally rejected by all.

The security of the American people must be of paramount concern to all politicians.

To permit for cashless bail to exist exhibits an abhorrent indifference towards the people they symbolize.

Their motive for permitting such a detrimental coverage to exist is bewildering.

Denis David

East Rockaway

I’m all in favor of eliminating cashless bail, however there may be a very huge loophole within the govt order President Trump signed: No minimal quantity of bail to be charged is talked about.

What prevents a decide, notably in New York City, from setting bail at a low price?

Robert Berk

The Issue: Cracker Barrel’s rebrand, which incorporates a simplified emblem and modernized inside.

It seems Cracker Barrel has determined to undertake Bud Light’s business model (“Supper villain over a Barrel,” Aug. 26).

One has to marvel what demographic the company is attempting to entice by getting rid of its entrance porch rocking chairs and adopting a mall cafeteria design in its eating areas — actually not the biscuits and gravy crowd.

Kenneth Fitzgerald

Hicksville

Everybody has jumped on the bandwagon of making their views recognized when it comes to Cracker Barrel’s rebrand.

My own tackle that is that the model, in attempting to appeal to younger people, has eradicated outdated people from its demographic.

If there’s one phrase that stands proud, it’s the “don’t look old” or “don’t look dated” mantra.

Aging is made to look dangerous; outdated people and outdated methods are pushed out of society.

But visiting outdated roots can have some advantages, particularly on this age of electronics.

Elinor Hite

Carrollton, Texas

The rebranding of Cracker Barrel seems to be getting more publicity than the famine in Gaza, but that famine is certainly coming — even because the feasts will proceed at Cracker Barrels and different diners throughout America, regardless of how the logos are designed.

Scranton, Pa.
